Calder’s Kitchen was founded by husband and wife Andrew and Anne-Marie Calder and is based in the North east of England. All of our Piccalilli is home made and we source our ingredients locally.

The recipe for our traditional piccalilli was that of my late grandfather, Charlie. We started making Piccalilli after Andrews mother published his recipe in the Northumberland community magazine they produced. The feedback we received was phenomenal and we started making Christmas hampers for friends and family. It became so popular that we decided to develop our brand, creating two further products, Chilllililli (a spicy version) and Sillylilli (for those who like it hot hot hot!) and began trading as Calder’s Kitchen in 2015.

We believe, and are frequently told, our Piccalilli is the best piccalilli currently on the market.

In 2016 we received recognition from over 450 industry experts by being awarded a Guild of Fine Food Great Taste award (gff.co.uk) for our traditional Piccalilli. Great Taste is the world’s largest and most trusted food and drink awards and this was followed in October 2016, by Calder’s Kitchen becoming an official winner of a Theo Paphitis SBS small business Sunday award.
